Claudia Barnett, sales associate for Premier Sotheby’s International Realty, has joined Second Heart Home Inc.’s board of directors.
“I am very excited to join the Second Heart Homes board,” Barnett said. “As someone who nearly became homeless from a business loss during the 1990s bank crisis, I view homelessness as a quality-of-life issue that affects homeless and home-blessed alike. I am committed to helping to crystalize Second Heart Homes’ role in the community.”
“Claudia brings to us her vast fundraising and professional real-estate experience from both Sarasota and Washington, D.C.,” said David Welle, board chairman. “Her role in co-founding and managing a District homeless organization and two homeless foundations there will help us through our next stage of growth.”
A native New Yorker, Claudia earned a bachelor’s degree in International Relations at American University. Claudia has served on the Sarasota City Historic Preservation Board and enjoys raising money for the arts and volunteering for several local nonprofits. She and her husband, Pops Orchestra President Jack Barnett, live in downtown Sarasota.
