Choral Singing: An Innovative Approach for Speech & Voice Disorders in Parkinson’s Disease

“Off-Key” Chorale performance scheduled for December 15, 2017

Neuro Challenge Foundation for Parkinson’s, Inc. created a partnership in 2012 with Key Chorale, Sarasota’s Symphonic Chorus, and Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota with the support of the Sarasota Memorial Health Care Center at Clark Road.

This choral group is comprised of people with Parkinson’s, family members, and other interested persons. Led by Key Chorale’s Artistic Director, Joseph Caulkins, with live musical accompaniment by Lee Dougherty Ross, “Off-Key” Chorale provides an opportunity for people with Parkinson’s to improve and strengthen their voices through singing, and provides a fellowship activity for people whose social opportunities are often limited by this disease. The chorale performance for this season will be held December 15th at 4:30pm at The Fountains of Hope Assisted Living & Memory Care Community, 2250 Jesus Way, Sarasota, 34240. The concert is free and open to the public.

On Friday, December 8th, catch Key Chorale’s Maestro escorting a member of the Parkinson’s community as they make their modeling debut in the annual Neuro Challenge Foundation fundraiser fashion show: Cause4Fashion! This event is held at Mattison’s by the Bay, located at 777 North Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Center. The festivities take place from 11:30am -1:30pm.  www.KeyChorale.org
