Theatre Odyssey Announces Selected Plays and Open Auditions for Sixth Annual Student Ten-Minute Playwriting Festival

Theatre Odyssey announces the eight plays selected for the Sixth Annual Student Ten-Minute Playwriting Festival and the auditions being held for the festival on Monday, December 11, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Center for Arts & Humanity, 1226 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota.

No appointment or monologues are required, and no actor will be cast in more than two plays. Actors will be asked to read sides from the eight selected plays.

Available roles are:

Awakening by Kassandra Haakman — Saint Stephen’s Episcopal School Grace — F, 20s, must play guitar

Baker Act by Kaylee Hernandez — Sarasota High School Sam — F, 15

The 2018 Student Ten-Minute Playwriting Festival will be held February 3–4, 2018, at the Jane

  1. Cook Theatre (FSU/Asolo Center for the Performing Arts). Scripts will be judged by three

theatre professionals. The winning playwright will receive $1,000 and the runner-up will receive

$500. These cash scholarships are generously provided by the Dorothy B. Templeton Fund at

the Community Foundation of Sarasota County.
