Welcome to Scene Magazine’s community blog. SCENE Magazine is the people’s magazine of our community. Every month for the past 50 years, SCENE has provided its readers with community news, stories on people and businesses making a difference, book and local theatre reviews, and SCENE’s famous Social pages where we feature photos of area residents attending some of the best fund raising events in town. With the advent of blogs, it became evident to me that SCENE should offer the community a way to connect with one another.

I hope you will use this blog to connect with others about community happenings, events, local people and businesses who are doing good things and providing good services, give your opinions on matters of importance and write about whatever else you would like in an effort to support and help the community.

SCENE is also helping to spread the news of the importance of “BECAUSE IT MATTERS”, a civility program funded by the Gulf Coast Community Foundation. The Foundation has provided us with a gift to help improve the quality of our lives – let’s all get involved in the program, participate by passing along “Pay It Forward” cards when you witness good deeds, and share these acts of kindness stories.
