All Star Children’s Foundation, a non-profit organization in Sarasota that works to create brighter futures for children in foster care, continues to expand its staff. The nonprofit recently hired Chelsea Hernandez, LCSW, as its new clinical director.

Hernandez is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with nearly 10 years of clinical experience working with at-risk children and families in intensive outpatient settings. Hernandez brings a trauma-informed and client-centered approach to working with staff, clients, and families, promoting healing, fostering hope, and enhancing autonomy. In her role at All Star, Hernandez will oversee a comprehensive, multidisciplinary clinical approach to working with children and families involved in the child welfare system. She will work closely with the clinical staff to provide high-quality, innovative interventions, engage birth families and the child welfare system in supporting healthy outcomes for children in foster care, and support foster parents as they care for children with a variety of needs.

Dr. Kristin Hoffman, All Star’s Chief Program Officer, states, “We could not be prouder to welcome Ms. Hernandez to All Star’s staff. Her previous experience intervening in family stress and adversity has prepared her well to lead our in-house clinical team in their work to stop the cycle of intergenerational trauma and to eventually expand this approach out into our local community.”
