The Landings in Sarasota Adds 8 New Businesses

Several exciting new food and fitness options are coming soon to The Landings, the open-air shopping, dining and wellness destination on U.S. 41 south of Proctor Road. 

Fast-casual restaurant Pacific Counter will soon be serving up its award-winning poke bowls and sushi burritos from a 1,500-square-foot space at the south end of The Landings. Voted Tampa Bay’s best poke bowl restaurant, the locally owned “coast-to-counter” eatery will offer build your own poke bowls and burritos, fancy hot dogs, bubble tea, and plenty of sides and sweets.

On August 1, Origin Craft Beer & Pizza Café will open its fourth location in a 2,500-square-foot space near Pacific Counter. Since opening in Sarasota’s Southside Village in 2016, Origin has gained an almost cult following for its classic and specialty pies and delicious baked wings. At the new Landings location, fans can expect the same great selection of craft beers, wings, salads and pizzas, including vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options.

Later this summer, fast-casual Florida chain 3Natives will open in a 1,350-square-foot spot. Founded in 2013 in Tequestawith the goal to bring healthy and quick food to the community, the new location will offer a variety of cold-pressed juices and smoothies, acai bowls, salads, wraps and more, all made in-house with locally sourced ingredients.

Florence and the Spice Boys, the popular food truck-turned-restaurant, will also be opening later this summer at the south end of the retail center. Followers of the food truck will soon be able to savor the signature modern Mediterranean and middle eastern flavors seven days a week in a brightly decorated fast-casual setting with indoor and outdoor seatingoverlooking a new greenspace that is being added to the property.

Perhaps the sweetest new addition to the food scene at The Landings is Crumbl Cookies, opening later this year in a 1,600-square-foot space between Pacific Counter and 3Natives. The cookie company is known for its weekly rotating menu of unique cookie flavors served in a signature pink box. 

Fitness enthusiasts can work up a sweat or stretch it out in two new studios opening soon.  Mantra Fitness, a boutique studio specializing in the Megaformer workout and following the Lagree method of Pilates, will open a 1,650-square-foot studio next to 3Natives. On the other side of the new studio will be StretchLab, a unique wellness concept that offers assisted stretch sessions to improve flexibility, enhance movement, reduce pain and improve quality of life.  

Rounding out the new additions is 1800 Barbershop, offering modern cuts and shaves for men in a classic barbershop setting.  The wave of new businesses will complement the existing tenant mix, which includes Starbucks, Tripletail Seafood & Spirits, Apollonia Grill, Vampire Penguin, EoS Fitness, Dog Perfect and a newly renovated Publixthat is reopening late this year.

The Landings has undergone a total transformation since Benderson Development purchased the mostly vacant property in 2012. Since acquiring it, the company has completely renovated the center and remerchandised it with an exciting lineup of new businesses. Other upcoming improvements include adding trellises of bougainvillea to create inviting entryways and a new outdoor green space for friends and family to relax and enjoy.
